The representative
value of a series of measurements is the one which we think is
closest to the real value of the said measurement.
If we carry our a series of measurements, the representative value will
be their average, excluding those values which we have proved to be far
from the true value.
The representative value should be
accompanied by the degree of precision with which it is known.
The following animation shows how to calculate the representative value
of a series of measurements carried out with some scales. To understand
the animation it is necessary to have a prior knowledge of the concepts
of absolute error, relative error and degree of precision.
