The solar system is formed by the sun and all the astronomical bodies which orbit around it. 
With respect to the planets, as well as ours, there are another eight which orbit round the sun. Up to Mars they are rocky spheres; then there are a series of giant planets, mainly formed of hydrogen; finally there is the small and frozen Pluto.
