A measurement is indirect when it is obtained by making calculations based on other direct measurements.
When, by using a formula, we calculate the value of a variable, we are doing an indirect measurement.
In the following example you can see how to calculate the value of g; we just have to measure the value of l and T directly, then we apply the formula and we obtain the value of g.
